In this tour, we’ll discover the old Lisbon, visiting Bairro Alto, Chiado, Baixa, entering the old alleyways of Alfama and stopping at great sightseeing points, where you have wonderful panoramic views of Lisbon. Along the way, we can also use a city’s funiculaire.

LISBON TOUR - IN DEPTH ( WALKING + PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION)
FULL DAY
In this tour besides the old neighbourhoods of Lisbon, included on the half day walking tour (central area with Baixa, Bairro Alto, Chiado) we’ll also have part of the tour private transportation to visit the area of Belém, with the Jerónimos monastery (entrance church) and the Belém Tower, two of the most important monuments dating from the 16th century. The golden age of Portugal, the discoveries period, when Vasco da Gama arrived in India and Pedro Álvares Cabral discovers Brasil. These are the two most important monuments in Manueline Style ( Portuguese style of the 16th century named after King Manuel. At some point of the tour, stop for lunch.

SINTRA - Half or full day tours to the beautiful village and mountain of Sintra, situated 30 minutes outside Lisbon, where the Portuguese Royal family used to spend their holidays, where there are palaces such as Queluz, Pena or National Village. In a full day tour, time to stop at the Roca Cape and Cascais or Praia das Maçãs and Azenhas do Mar. We’ll give the best suggestions for your lunch time. Please enquire for pricing. This could be centered around food and Lisbon's great restaurants (Portuguese GASTRONOMY has recently been gaining international recognition, and you can now find our cakes in cafés around the world), WINE tasting (in one of the cellars in the vicinity of Lisbon), FADO (the portuguese traditional style of singing, with it's distinct style in Lisbon and accompanied by the Portuguese guitar with it’s round shape and 12 strings), literature (Portuguese is one of the oldest languages in the world with amazing writers for whom Lisbon has been a huge source of inspiration), theatre, nature, photography, architecture, ceramics.

Lisbon is a city of seven hills with cobblestone streets and sidewalks, a challenge for those who have trouble walking. However, we can always adapt any tour to your walking ability.
Although I’m based in Lisbon, I can travel all over the country and give you informed insights into our culture and history while visiting our regions and their monuments. As an official national guide, I’m able and happy to cover all of the Portuguese territory.
